Start-up, fast growing Information Technology consulting practice. Opened with eight employees and grew to 28 within six months. Increased to 48 employees and $10 million in sales within a two year period.

World's largest supplier of cake decorations to professional cake decorators and bakeries in the world with offices in Minnesota, Arkansas and Hong Kong, and factories in England. Annual revenues of over $110 million. Grew from 65 to 195 employees over four years.

Provided on-site HR support to address routine and project-based HR needs, including:
- Audited employee benefits elections against payroll deductions and provider billing to insure accuracy and appropriate coverage levels.
- Audited 401k plan employee contribution elections, fund elections, and payroll deductions to insure accuracy.
- Designed, established, and implemented an effective new-hire on boarding process.
- Set up all files and administrative Human Resources procedures in accordance with compliance requirements.
- Designed performance management process to drive business results, including development of three separate performance reviews: one for managers and supervisors, one for professional staff, one for warehouse employees.
- Researched annual salary increase trends and provided salary planning guidance to management.
- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliance, including developed policies and procedures, executed business associate agreements, and conducted employee training.
- Immigration compliance. Established effective I-9 verification process. Conducted audit of I-9 forms and effectively addressed social security no-match letters.
- Recruiting and hiring. Hired 86 employees in a two-month period to respond to business growth requirements.
- Updated Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave administration process to comply with new regulations. Integrated policy with Minnesota Parenting Leave law requirements.
- Safety. Developed comprehensive safety orientation training program for new employees.
- Established Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) reporting process.
Software Developer
Company of 130 employees that developed a complete software solution which provides clients with a complete, turnkey digital signage system capable of managing a digital signage network from one central location. Installation of digital signage systems in more than 40 countries and on over 6,600 displays.

Reduction in Force (RIF). Worked with company General Counsel to prepare for reduction in force of 45 employees across United States & Canadian locations
- Developed Reduction in Force timing and action plan.
- Created communication plan to ensure timely and effective notification of separation.
- Developed script for managers and supervisors for individual exit meetings.
- Prepared separation packages and severance agreements.
- Provided on-site guidance and support for management in executing the RIF.

- Collaborated with the corporate Training Department to develop effective HR Toolkit rollout training materials.

Mid-sized organization with client base. Leading producer of microorganisms for use in quality control in microbiology laboratories worldwide.
